Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Eastbourne, UK, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Operations to lead a world-class electronics manufacturing operation, drive capital strategy, and enable new product introductions across PCA and assembly lines.

You will manage a high-performance team, optimise processes, ensure safety and quality, and partner with NPI to balance resources across product groups. A senior-leadership role with strong coaching and communication is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical/electronics or manufacturing engineering or related field.
Significant experience implementing lean manufacturing and electronics manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of SMT and through-hole assembly processes and components.
Proven people leadership experience in a technical environment.
Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken.
Experience with MRP systems, ideally SAP.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a cost-efficient, innovative manufacturing strategy for PCA and box assembly.
Drive introduction of new products into Operations with quality, delivery, safety, and cost in mind.
Set and monitor ambitious OEE targets and provide robust engineering support.
Optimize shop layout and resources for current and future growth.
