Qualifications

• A relevant engineering degree, or an NVQ Level 3 with an HNC or equivalent.
• Strong engineering and manufacturing experience in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure manufacturing systems are technically capable of meeting production requirements.
• Lead manufacturing input into product development and technical change activities.
• Oversee industrialisation and contribute to project gate reviews.
• Coordinate obsolescence and replacement initiatives.
• Lead production-rate increases across relevant manufacturing areas.
• Manage project-level CAPEX requirements and funding submissions.
• Coordinate validation and certification of production systems.
• Support the transition of products from development into series production.
• Identify manufacturing risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and capability.
• Manage technical relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Salary: Circa £65,000-£70,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Qualifications required: A relevant engineering degree, or a technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 with an HNC or equivalent qualification.

Experience needed: Strong technical engineering and manufacturing experience, with a proven background leading industrialisation, production-readiness and continuous-improvement activities within a complex engineering environment.

What We Need From You

• Significant technical experience within engineering and manufacturing
• Experience working with complex manufacturing or production systems
• Proven experience leading engineering projects, industrialisation or production-readiness activities
• Strong knowledge of risk management, problem-solving and technical issue resolution
• Experience managing obsolescence, continuous improvement or production-rate increases
• The credibility to act as a technical authority and influence senior stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and decision-making skills
• Experience within defence, aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment would be advantageous
