Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR Limited is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Pipework to lead manufacturing engineering for large pipework assemblies. You will work with a modules-focused engineer, report to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, and drive manufacturability and production-readiness for future nuclear components.

The role is based in our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices with hybrid working and regular supplier travel.

• Define how complex pipework systems will be manufactured, ensuring designs are manufacturable, supply chains are capable, and robust production methods are established before factory operations commence.
• Produce manufacturing documentation, standards and work instructions.
• Support supplier selection, development and technical readiness activities.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Pipework

The appointment of a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Pipework will be a pivotal role at Rolls Royce SMR to lead the manufacturing engineering activity for large pipework assemblies and will work alongside a corresponding modules-focused engineer. You will be reporting to our Senior Manufacturing Manager and your role will look like:

• Develop the manufacturing methods, processes and production systems required to manufacture major nuclear components and pipework within the future factory environment
• Define how complex pipework systems will be manufactured, ensuring designs are manufacturable, supply chains are capable, and robust production methods are established before factory operations commence
• Produce manufacturing documentation, standards and work instructions
• Support supplier selection, development and technical readiness activities

We seek an inspiring and tenacious individual who will have had exposure in regulated or safety‑critical environments (as you would expect nuclear “know‑how” will be of great interest to us, whilst those from defence, aerospace and manufacturing sectors may all have transferable capability). We will need your application to showcase your experience and knowledge in the following areas:

• Manufacturing engineering experience within complex engineered products.

Location & Ways of Working

This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington office. Hybrid working is standard, with regular supplier travel required. Some international travel may also be required depending on supplier activity.

A salary between £50,640 and £66,500 depending on experience 12.5% performance related bonus
