Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Somerset to lead NPI initiatives, drive process improvements and liaise with customers and suppliers. The role covers new assemblies from concept through capability reviews to sign-off, plus ongoing production support in a growing automotive remanufacturing environment.

The candidate should be practical, comfortable with customers, and experienced in manufacturing or process engineering, with strong data analysis and CAD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• New Product Introduction: coordinate with customers from initial meetings to capability review, supplier development and sign-off on new assemblies.
• Maintain existing production programmes by identifying issues, analyzing data and implementing improvements.
• Drive line efficiency by resolving bottlenecks related to tooling, layout, part availability or process documentation.
• Balance assembly lines to maximise throughput and efficiency.
• Design tooling using Solid Edge to create 3D models and manufacturing drawings for external tooling and fixtures.
• Specify and procure new equipment for assembly lines.
