Manufacturing Engineer
Based: Barrow in Furness - Onsite
Hourly Rate: £35.02 PAYE or £47.14 Umbrella inside IR35
37 Hours per week
BAE Systems are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in delivering robust manufacturing solutions across the product lifecycle – from concept to delivery. You'll bring technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
The Job

  • Translate engineering design intent into capable manufacturing data and processes
  • Lead Manufacturing Engineering activities and contribute to high-profile projects
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, checking and approving work as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality regulations
  • Identify resource needs and plan activities to meet project schedules
  • Develop, test, and optimise manufacturing processes and tooling
  • Drive performance through KPI tracking and root cause analysis
  • Support business cases for process improvement and capital investment

The Skills
  • Significant experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment

  • Excellent communication, document control, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant Engineering and SHE standards
