A leading engineering firm in Henlow is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of engineering processes and improvement initiatives. You will work closely with the Principal Engineer to enhance production efficiency and handle day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a technical apprenticeship or relevant degree, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate designs into manufacturing instructions. Responsibilities

  • Support existing production lines and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Assist with industrial validation (e.g. FMEA, process proving activities).
  • Maintain configuration control by updating documentation in line with design changes.
  • Manage and support non-conformance investigations.
  • Ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  • Liaise with health & safety teams and COSHH assessors on process changes.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture (DfM).
  • Create and update Manufacturing Instructions and production BOMs.
  • Develop and manage tooling solutions.

Skills

The Opportunity:

You will work across both development and production lines, translating design requirements into user-friendly manufacturing instructions and supporting day-to-day operations. The role also offers growth into areas like industrial validation, manufacturing architecture, and future factory principles.

Working alongside the Principal Engineer, you’ll support multiple projects with a focus on resolving manufacturing issues and implementing continuous improvements.

What we’re looking for:

Education:

  • A BEng (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
