Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Darlington, County Durham, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of modifications to manufacturing equipment and systems, while guiding and co-leading project teams.
  • Direct projects to develop and execute comprehensive manufacturing processes that meet safety standards, manufacturing objectives, business goals, and product specifications.
  • Apply advanced manufacturing principles and practices to enhance equipment performance and process efficiency, ensuring adherence to Cummins standards.
  • Drive process improvements by leveraging continuous improvement tools and developing new manufacturing standards and work methods.
  • Serve as the primary communicator and influencer with key external stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional team members.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external resources to execute project assignments effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders, providing mentorship and coaching to foster a culture of excellence in manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software, with a preference for experience using AutoCAD.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Project for planning and managing projects effectively.
  • Five or more years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering is preferred, demonstrating a solid foundation in the field.
  • Familiarity with welding processes, welding robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies, such as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), particularly MiR brand, is advantageous.
  • Strong technical expertise combined with hands-on experience to support manufacturing operations and innovation.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
