Job summary

TLT LLP is recruiting a Senior or Managing Associate for its Employment team with offices in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh or London. The role focuses on leading employer advisory work and defending tribunal claims across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

You will handle disciplinaries, grievances, restructurings and TUPE matters while drafting key employment documents and training clients.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE in employment law.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
• Commercial awareness with exposure to business development.
• Ability to understand client business needs and act in their best interests.

Responsibilities

• Help employers manage workplace issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, restructuring and redundancies.
• Lead on Employment Tribunal claims (mostly for Respondents).
• Provide employment law support in TUPE, corporate deals and outsourcing contracts.
• Draft contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks, settlement agreements and related docs.
• Collaborate with Partners and the national Employment team.

Our busy Employment team continues to grow nationwide and we are recruiting for a Senior or Managing Associate to join us in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh or London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a Chambers UK and Legal 500 ranked team at a senior level, and work with "Leading Individuals", as named in the Legal 500. Our Employment team enjoys an excellent reputation in the market and is ranked as a National Leader. We are growing quickly and offer resident employment expertise in England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Many of our clients are well known names in the retail, public, and financial services sectors and we provide a full range of employment support, including in defending Employment Tribunal claims.

Your Role

• Helping employers manage issues in the workplace such as disciplinaries, grievances, restructuring and redundancies
• Leading on Employment Tribunal claims (almost exclusively acting for Respondents)
• Providing employment law support in TUPE matters, corporate deals and outsourcing contracts, contract drafting and client training
• Drafting of contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks, settlement agreements and other employment related documentation
• Collaborating with Partners and working closely with the wider national Employment team

Your Skills & Experience

• A qualified lawyer with 3+ years PQE in an employment team
• A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
• Commercially aware with some exposure to business development, with the ability to maintain and nurture strong client relationships
• Develop a deep understanding of your client's business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
• Contribute to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members
