Senior Manager, Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulatory Advisory

EY's Financial Services practice is a unique industry-focused business unit providing a broad range of integrated services to financial institutions and capital markets participants, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance, and energy trading companies.

EY UK's Wealth & Asset Management Risk & Regulation Team is the largest in EMEIA, with a market-leading position in Risk Management services, working across the wealth & asset management market on diverse engagements with a varied client portfolio.

The team focuses on delivering sustainable benefits by enhancing business decisions through improved and effective risk management.

The opportunity

Our goal is to lead in supporting the CRO and CCO's agendas. We offer both breadth and depth in Regulatory / Compliance and Risk Management initiatives, from Regulatory Change programmes and Due Diligence during transactions to detailed advice on Conduct or Risk Management Frameworks, and full Risk and Compliance Transformation programmes in collaboration with multiple EY Teams.

Your key responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee Risk Management Frameworks, including governance, risk appetite, control frameworks, Risk MI & Reporting, and Culture.
  • Manage Compliance Target Operating Models and Monitoring processes.
  • Lead Regulatory Change programmes and Due Diligence during transactions.
  • Conduct Skilled Person Reviews and review reports on FCA Handbook rules.
  • Address Investment Risk, Funds regulation in UK and Europe, Regulatory Reporting, and Fund and legal entity authorisations.
The successful candidate will be expected to
  • Lead engagement delivery, articulating EY findings and recommendations based on regulatory expertise.
  • Plan and manage daily engagement activities.
  • Lead teams and manage client relationships.
  • Analyze emerging issues and develop EY propositions.
  • Communicate effectively through reports and presentations.
  • Identify additional advisory opportunities and lead proposal processes.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to performance reviews.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Experience with Compliance and Risk Frameworks in WAM.
  • Business consulting experience with strong client liaison skills.
  • Project management experience in compliance and risk projects.
  • Ability to build networks and develop business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Alternatives as an asset class is advantageous.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Experience in a Wealth or Asset Managers' Regulatory Risk / Compliance Team or similar advisory services.
  • A strong academic background.
  • Management and development experience with teams.
