Your Role

Join our fast-growing & collaborative Data-Driven Financial Risk & Compliance (DFRC) team and shape the future of risk and finance! We harness cutting-edge technology, AI-powered models, and cloud-first data platforms to transform risk management from a reactive function into a strategic powerhouse—driving growth, resilience, and competitive edge. As a Senior Manager – Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions for our Financial Services clients. You will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data products and architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance while aligning with business objectives. You will own and drive enterprise solutions covering orchestration, access control, consumption via market leading cloud solutions to ensure seamless integration with larger hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure and GCP to support key downstream uses including machine learning, AI/GenAI solutions.

In this role you will play a key role in:

  • Cloud Solution Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions on AWS, ensuring best practices in architecture, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Architecture Roadmap Definition: Define the strategic solutions and architecture roadmap covering key platform capabilities, engaging with Enterprise Solution Architects and Data Architects to ensure alignment on program objectives and north star goals.
  • Engage with the data product management and engineering teams to triage and prioritise platform capabilities to deliver business and customer outcomes.
  • AWS Data Product Development: Lead the development of cloud-native data products using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and DynamoDB, aligning with business needs.
  • Technical Leadership & Advisory: Act as a trusted AWS expert, advising clients on cloud migration, data strategy, and architecture modernization while working closely with CDOs and CTOs.
  • Security, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure AWS-based solutions meet financial services security standards, compliance requirements (e.g., FCA, GDPR), and risk controls.
  • Team Enablement & Solution Delivery: Guide teams in Cloud architecture best practices, oversee solution deployment, and bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • While this role requires expertise in solution architecture, we are looking for versatile team members, capable of successfully executing a diverse array of data-driven projects. This includes expertise in agile delivery, requirements gathering, data analysis, stakeholder management, governance, and compliance.

  • Business Development – Leading on proposals, RFPs, bids, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Proposition development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities) etc.
  • Learning & Development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, including leadership and technology certifications etc.

Your Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical expertise, consultancy experience, and leadership skills to excel in this role.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate most or all of the following:

  • Financial Services Industry Knowledge – Understanding of the regulatory landscape, compliance requirements (FCA, GDPR, etc.), and security best practices relevant to cloud-based data platforms and analytics solutions.
  • Strong technical expertise in AWS – Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures, ETL pipelines, and cloud-native applications, using services such as AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, RDS, IAM, and KMS.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management – Ability to engage with C-level executives (CDOs, CTOs, CIOs), lead cross-functional teams, and drive technical strategy in complex enterprise environments.
  • Agile & Solution Delivery – Experience in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies, with a focus on automation, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and cloud security.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or Associate with relevant experience)
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP) is a plus
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Scala for data engineering use cases

Good To Have

  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry, but having a Consulting background with proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience with proposition building and delivery.
  • Experience in business development, utilising the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships and leveraging your own network to generate new consulting revenues.
