What you’ll do

This exciting role entails the responsibility of developing Vodafone's approach to Government policy and regulation on security-related issues. As well as having direct responsibility for key security policy topics impacting the telecoms industry (including strategic supply chain security risk and cyber security regulatory policy), you will manage and oversee the work of 2 security policy managers and set the overall priorities and ambition for the team.

You will report into the Global Head of Government Security & Regulation and work closely with the public policy and external affairs teams in Vodafone Group, Vodafone’s European operating companies and Brussels-based European affairs team.

  • Analyse developments in security policy and regulation impacting Vodafone globally, with a key focus on the EU.
  • Develop policy positions, consultation responses and advocacy strategies for security policy topics.
  • Represent Vodafone’s position with key external security stakeholders (EU, NATO, Industry Associations) and contribute to Vodafone’s public thought leadership on security policy topics.
  • Prepare Vodafone Senior Leadership for political engagement on Security topics and integrate security considerations into broader policy messaging for Vodafone.
Who you are
  • You have excellent writing and analytical skills You have excellent communications skills
  • You have experience drafting policy positions and consultation responses
  • You are familiar with the EU legislative process and how to influence policy outcomes
  • You have strong knowledge base of security policy topics, and familiarity with the telecommunications industry
  • You can demonstrate thought leadership around emerging security threats and the role of the Telecoms sector is supporting national defence, security and resilience
  • You are comfortable representing an organisation to external stakeholders
