Job Description:

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Work together with the HoP to shape and implement the team and category strategy. You will lead a team of Procurement Managers and/or Specialists, being responsible for their workload, prioritisation, and delivery in conjunction with the HoP. You will nurture and develop team members as required and support the HoP from a strategic and stakeholder engagement perspective. You will build relevant subject matter knowledge and gather market intelligence by analysing market developments – new trends, supplier entries/exits, competitor information, risks, etc., looking for and reporting innovative business solutions for potential savings.
  • You will manage the procurement process for medium to high-value/risk projects, following the SM&P process and procedures manual, and support/review other procurement projects as needed. You will lead procurement in cooperation with operational stakeholders and work closely with other SM&P team members. You will evaluate procurement requests, challenge internal customers and suppliers, perform detailed proposal analysis, and manage activities involved in implementing commercial agreements, including issuing commercial materials to suppliers.
  • You will manage medium-to-high value/risk contracts throughout their lifecycle from an administrative and commercial perspective, following the SM&P process and procedures manual. You will provide guidance on contractual matters, support ongoing supplier management, and handle escalated contractual claims and disputes, ensuring resolution and maintaining supplier relationships through regular reviews and performance assessments. You will analyze operational risks and report on risk levels, making recommendations for further actions.
  • You will develop and leverage internal and external networks, ensuring optimal input and output for your scope. Significant business travel will be required, including internal and supplier visits/meetings. You will have the flexibility to work from home when not traveling.
