Surrey County Council seeks a leader for the Mental Health management team, focusing on enhancing outcomes for residents. This role oversees daily adult social care delivery, managing a budget alongside partners and ensuring high-performance standards in East and Mid Surrey. The starting salary for this role is £68,774 per annum and is based on a 36 hour working week.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our Mental Health management team within Surrey County Council's Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships directorate. This is an exciting opportunity for someone that wants to work as part of the leadership team working closely with partners to improve the outcomes for our residents in Surrey.

The Mental Health Service provides support to Surrey residents who meet social care criteria under the Care Act, focusing on personalisation and a recovery-focused, strength-based approach. About the Role
You will oversee the daily delivery of adult social care support, be part of the local leadership team, manage a delegated budget, and ensure high performance standards across East Surrey, Mid Surrey, the AMHP team, and the Social Care Duty Team. You will collaborate with council partners, health providers, and the voluntary sector to improve local lives.
We seek an enthusiastic, innovative leader with a professional qualification in health or social care and a proven track record in team management. You should understand and commit to the personalisation agenda, have experience in adult social care services, and be knowledgeable about relevant legislation. A commitment to supporting carers and adhering to the Council's Equality and Diversity policy is essential.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation which will allow us to implement the Government led policy of devolution, which is all about giving more powers to local areas.
Currently, Surrey has a two-tier council system, with 11 district and borough councils and a county council, all responsible for different services. All these councils will be reorganised into a smaller number of new unitary councils which will come into effect in April 2027. At this point, this role will be transferred, with all existing terms and conditions intact into one of the new unitary councils.
