Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded, technically fluent leader to build the next generation of customer lifecycle marketing at Fastmarkets and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across the marketing function.

This role sits at the intersection of customer strategy, customer insight, marketing technology, data and transformation. You will own our customer lifecycle strategy and marketing automation roadmap, ensuring direct customer feedback and behavioural signals are translated into better journeys, propositions and decisions. Using customer intelligence, automation and AI, you will make engagement more relevant, timely and scalable. You will also act as marketing’s AI enablement lead, identifying high‑value use cases, structuring pilots, establishing standards and helping teams embed successful approaches into everyday work.

This is a strategic, hands‑on builder role. You will set direction and create the operating model, but you will also personally prototype, build and deploy agents, automations and integrations. You will work directly with marketing subject‑matter experts to turn their ideas into reliable workflows that permanently improve how teams plan, execute and optimise marketing. You will need to understand marketing flows and systems in depth, while having the technical confidence to connect platforms, troubleshoot integrations and move solutions from concept into production.

Key responsibilities
Customer Lifecycle Strategy
  • Own and evolve Fastmarkets' lifecycle marketing strategy across acquisition, onboarding, adoption, engagement, renewal, expansion and advocacy, creating a scalable customer experience across subscription, digital product and events customers.
  • Design and optimise customer journeys using behavioural, commercial and product‑usage data to drive engagement, adoption, retention and growth.
  • Build targeted lifecycle programmes for key customer segments, including high‑value, growth and at‑risk customers, using predictive signals and customer intelligence to improve outcomes.
  • Establish lifecycle KPIs, reporting and roadmaps, working closely with Marketing, Sales, Client Services, Product and Data teams to align customer journeys with commercial priorities.
GTM Engineering, Marketing Automation and AI Agents
  • Own the strategic direction, governance and continuous evolution of Fastmarkets' marketing automation, AI and customer engagement ecosystem.
  • Act as the senior subject matter expert for Marketo and related platforms, driving best practice across automation, lead management, lifecycle orchestration, segmentation and reporting.
  • Design, build and optimise automations, integrations, AI‑powered workflows and customer journeys that improve efficiency, scalability and customer experience.
  • Partner with Marketing, Technology and Data teams to develop and deploy AI agents, API integrations and connected workflows that solve real business challenges and support marketing execution.
  • Establish frameworks, standards and governance for AI‑enabled solutions, ensuring they deliver measurable value, reliability and adoption across the Marketing function.
Customer Intelligence and Decisioning
  • Lead audience segmentation, customer health and targeting frameworks that enable more relevant, personalised customer experiences.
  • Use attribution, journey analytics and customer insight to identify the drivers of engagement, adoption, retention and growth.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Commercial and Data teams to improve data quality, accessibility and governance, ensuring insight is trusted and actionable.
  • Translate customer data into clear recommendations that inform lifecycle strategy, campaigns, customer engagement and commercial decision‑making.
Marketing AI Strategy and Enablement
  • Own and deliver Marketing's AI roadmap, identifying and scaling use cases that improve customer engagement, marketing effectiveness and team productivity.
  • Lead Marketing's AI Centre of Excellence, establishing best practices, governance and adoption across the function.
  • Evaluate, implement and optimise AI tools, agents and workflows that enhance customer intelligence, personalisation, campaign execution and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Technology, Data and Legal teams to ensure AI is deployed responsibly while coaching marketers to confidently adopt new ways of working.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, coach and develop the Email Marketing Executives, setting clear objectives and raising technical, strategic and commercial capability.
  • Create a high‑performance culture focused on customer value, quality, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish best practice for campaign build, testing, quality assurance, deliverability, compliance, documentation and reporting.
  • Influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority and help colleagues navigate the practical and people impacts of changing technology.
Governance and Performance
  • Own email deliverability, consent management and compliance with applicable data protection and electronic marketing requirements.
  • Establish clear governance for marketing automation, AI‑enabled workflows, audience use and customer communications.
  • Manage relevant platform, vendor and agency relationships, ensuring value, performance and appropriate controls.
  • Report regularly to senior Marketing leadership on lifecycle performance, AI adoption, productivity gains, risks, insights and recommendations.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast‑paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

Essential

  • Proven experience designing complex customer journeys, segmentation frameworks and retention or adoption programmes that delivered measurable results.
  • Experience managing digital transformation, marketing operations or technology‑enabled change across cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of practical AI applications in marketing, with experience moving use cases from idea through pilot to adoption.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable workflows, automation, data and technology solutions.
Highly desirable
  • Experience with Dreamdata, Clay or comparable attribution, enrichment and audience‑building platforms.
  • Experience designing or deploying AI agents, copilots, no‑code automations or AI‑enabled workflow solutions.
  • Familiarity with APIs, MCP, agent frameworks, evaluation methods or integration architecture, sufficient to work effectively with technical specialists.
  • Experience developing AI governance, enablement or adoption programmes within a marketing organisation.
  • Experience building customer health models, predictive analytics, propensity models or churn interventions.

If you're excited about the role but your experience, skills or qualifications don't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway.
