Job description

A growing deal advisory firm is looking to hire at Senior Manager-grade into its London office. This is a key senior hire within a fast-growing deals practice, supporting private equity and corporate clients across the full transaction life-cycle as they focus on driving operational performance and delivering value from complex transactions.

You will join a small, high-impact team that plays a central role within their M&A and deals offering. The team works across buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as post-deal and transformation engagements, helping investors and management teams translate strategic priorities into executable plans and measurable value.

The Role

You will take a leading role in the delivery of complex integration and separation engagements, supporting clients through planning, execution and post-deal implementation activities.

Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you will take ownership of client relationships and engagement delivery, helping clients navigate the operational, financial and organisational challenges associated with combining or separating businesses. You will provide senior-level oversight across multiple workstreams, bringing structure to complex situations and ensuring that recommendations translate into practical, executable outcomes.

The role combines strategic problem solving, senior stakeholder management and hands-on delivery, requiring the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and often ambiguous transaction environments.

Alongside client delivery, you will play an important role in the continued growth of the practice through business development, client origination, proposition development and the leadership and development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex integration and separation engagements across the transaction lifecycle, taking accountability for overall engagement delivery and outcomes.
  • Advise clients on the operational and financial implications of integrations, carve-outs and separations, identifying key risks, dependencies and value opportunities.
  • Develop clear, commercially focused recommendations and practical solutions to address complex transaction and implementation challenges.
  • Oversee project plans, workstreams and engagement teams, ensuring high-quality delivery against demanding transaction timelines.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships with executives, investors and wider deal teams.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to Managers, Consultants and junior team members.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and originate new engagements across the broader deals and value creation agenda.
  • Lead and support business development activity, including proposals, pitches, thought leadership and the continued development of the firm's integration and separation proposition.

Candidate Profile

  • Significant experience delivering integration, separation or broader transaction-related consulting engagements, ideally within a recognised advisory, consulting or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of M&A environments, including buy-side and sell-side transactions and the operational considerations that arise throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable experience leading integration planning, carve-outs, separations, synergy assessments, Day 1 readiness or transition support activities.
  • Experience managing complex engagements and multidisciplinary teams, with responsibility for senior client relationships and delivery quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex operational and financial issues and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Commercial mindset with experience contributing to business development, proposal activity and the development of client opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the credibility to engage effectively with senior executives, investors and deal professionals.

What’s on Offer?

  • Opportunity to join a growing and ambitious deal advisory practice in a senior leadership position.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial working environment with significant exposure to Partners, investors and senior management teams.
  • Clear progression opportunities and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping and growing the practice.
  • Broad exposure to complex and high-profile transactions across private equity and corporate clients.
  • Flexible hybrid working model and competitive reward package.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consulting or deals professional to step into a senior leadership position, combining ownership of complex transaction engagements with senior client exposure, team leadership and a meaningful role in the continued growth of the practice.
