Arm Limited in Cambridge, UK seeks a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax to lead global indirect tax compliance, advise on contracts and business initiatives, and help build a scalable tax function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, tax or related field.
  • CPA and sophisticated certifications are desirable.
  • 8+ years of dynamic indirect tax experience with a multinational organization and/or a major public accounting firm.
  • Excellent skills in factual development, tax research, documentation, and coordination with third‑party advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of indirect tax principles.
  • Experience designing and working with systems and software used to comply with indirect tax requirements.
  • Ability to translate sophisticated tax issues into practical business advice and influence decision‑making across multiple functional areas.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Leadership experience, including hiring and developing tax professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Reporting – Lead indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions with accounting group and external advisors.
  • Technical Tax Leadership – Advise on tax implications of transactions, contracts, and new business initiatives, monitor regulatory changes and ensure the company adapts accordingly.
  • Audit & Risk Management – manage indirect tax audits, notices, and information requests and develop strategies to minimize tax risk.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work with finance, legal, procurement, accounting, sales operations and our tax team to ensure accurate taxability determinations, and support system updates, business expansions, and product launches from a tax perspective.
  • Technology & Process Optimization – oversee configuration and maintenance of indirect tax systems and drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Leadership & Team Development – manage and develop a team, including external advisors, and ensure high‑quality technical output.
  • Additional duties, including participation in our trade and customs area, as requested.

Job description

As Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you will report to the head of tax and partner closely with business operations and administrative teams to support our expanding, global business. This role will cover traditional indirect taxes like sales tax and VAT as well as import duties, business taxes that are not income based, and incentives. Your tax responsibilities will include global compliance, systems set-up, sale and purchase contract review and negotiations, tax audits, and supply-chain planning.

Our growth and change mean this role requires being in the details, running multiple projects at once, simplifying the complex, and participating in higher-level decision-making. It’s a unique and exciting role to provide business critical tax advice and help build a tax department at a company operating at scale and growing!

This role is based in Cambridge, UK, or in United Sates with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the UK or United States.

Required Skills and Experience :
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, tax or a related field!
  • CPA and sophisticated certifications are desirable.
  • 8+ years of dynamic indirect tax experience with a multinational organization and/or a major public accounting firm. Experience in global indirect tax and experience in trade and customs is desirable.
  • Excellent skills in factual development, tax research, documentation, and communication and coordination with third‑party advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of indirect tax principles.
  • Experience designing and working with systems and software used to comply with indirect tax requirements.
  • The ability to translate sophisticated tax issues into practical business advice and influence decision‑making across multiple functional areas.
