Job summary

BBVA is seeking a senior risk project lead in the UK to drive projects across valuation, market risk, and counterparty risk. You will define scope, governance, and staffing while ensuring timely delivery within a Global Markets context.

The role requires 8+ years in financial risk, experience with FRTB, and proficiency in Python and Murex, with Agile practices guiding delivery. A Master’s degree or FRM/CFA is highly valued, and strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional experience in the financial or banking sector.
Knowledge in valuation, market risk, counterparty risk, AVAs, XVAs.
Experience implementing FRTB regulation.
Experience implementing and enhancing corporate tools in Global Markets.
Programming experience in Python is highly valued.
Experience using the Murex platform.
Experience with Agile methodology.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary risk contact in conception, planning, design, execution, and implementation of projects.
Define project scope and governance structure to ensure success and approvals.
Understand project scope and impacts across risk dimensions including valuation and market risk.
Ensure staffing for the project in coordination with managers.
Develop and maintain the project plan and manage dependencies and critical path.
Participate in project monitoring and escalation of issues.
