Your key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients both internally and externally
  • Deliver high-quality tax advice to clients
  • Leverage EY technology and available products to provide managed service support and develop new service propositions
  • Manage the successful delivery of projects with technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach
  • Pursue and develop new opportunities with existing and prospective clients
  • Help people develop through supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Contribute to the management of the team in terms of strategy and operations and in developing junior staff and assignments

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to produce quality outputs
  • Business development skills to identify and convert opportunities
  • Significant technical tax expertise, including familiarity with international developments (e.g. FASTER initiative)
  • Knowledge of securities taxation principles (withholding, tax treaty analysis, capital gains) and tax considerations impacting investors and custodians
  • Understanding of the financial ecosystem (CSD, custodians, broker-dealers) and products (equity investment portfolios, securities lending, derivatives)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Pragmatism and creative problem solving
  • Results orientation and willingness to take on responsibility
  • Strong client focus with strategic and commercial awareness
  • Change oriented with a flexible approach

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • ACA / CA / Law qualification or equivalent
  • Strong financial sector tax experience
  • Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs

Ideally, you will also have

  • Project management experience
  • Experience working alongside technology specialists to optimise and automate tax-related procedures
