Senior Manager Data Risk

Our client is a leading financial services business who as part of an ongoing re-investment in the business are enhancing all aspects of their Line 2 Risk function. This is a unique opportunity to shape, create and embed a newly formed function in a dynamic and growing organisation.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with proven experience in enterprise level Data Governance, Data Risk or Internal Audit.

Role Accountabilities :

• Provide independent oversight and challenge to data risk management practices and programs.
• Review and assess material data risk exposures across organisational initiatives, including transformation projects, cloud migrations and third party arrangements.
• Monitor adherence to enterprise-wide data governance, quality standards, frameworks, and controls.
• Advise on the risk implications of the organisations data strategies.
• Conduct reviews and detailed analysis of specific data areas.
• Provide actionable insights and guidance to senior leadership on emerging risks and data exposures.
• Utilise the organisations GRC system to actively track and report on risk issues, potential control gaps and provide regular reports and insights to guide activity.
• Shape and lead the embedding of data risk frameworks that address regulatory needs and industry best practise.
• Work collaboratively across both Line 1 and Line 3 functions to raise the understanding of Data Risk and champion its consideration in all data related work.

About you :

• Given the nature of this role, you'll have at least 5 years experience in the fields of data governance, data risk or internal audit roles, whether that be Line 1, 1.5 2 or 3.
• You'll need to have the confidence to engage and educate widely across the organisation on all aspects of data risk. As a newly formed role, there will be a need to raise collective understanding and demonstrate value quickly.
• Ideal if you come from a financial services background and an appreciation of CPG235 amongst others would really help.
• You'll need to have excellent communication skills and be confident to constructively challenge current thinking and organisational norms.
• Expertise in data lifecycle management, data architecture principles, and regulatory compliance obligations.
