Global Procurement enables GSK's ambitions by leading procurement initiatives across business units, supporting the delivery of vaccines and medicines through the entire procurement cycle.

As GSK enhances its data utilization to improve patient outcomes, we seek a leader to join R&D Procurement to maximize investments in data acquisitions and subscriptions, developing strategies in partnership with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare data acquisitions, knowledge of best practices in buying data, and familiarity with key data providers, especially in GSK’s therapy areas.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Strategy creation & execution:
    • Create sourcing strategies with a global/regional and strategic mindset, collaborating with other Category Leaders for alignment.
    • Develop sophisticated procurement strategies aligned with business needs, supported by financial analysis.
    • Lead contract planning, negotiations, and management.
    • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and value.
  2. Value Creation & Benefit delivery:
    • Deliver benefits through strategy execution, focusing on supply assurance, quality, service, cost, and innovation.
    • Maintain a pipeline of savings, risk mitigation, and ESG initiatives.
  3. Business partnering & stakeholder management:
    • Influence stakeholders to support strategies and benefit realization, including communication with senior finance managers.
  4. External supplier relationships:
    • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers, ensuring value and considering cross-category dependencies.
  5. Influencing:
    • Develop effective partnership approaches within category management across regions.
    • Ensure clear communication strategies within procurement and business networks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years in procurement, with 2+ years in data acquisitions, preferably in pharmaceuticals/R&D.
  • Proven ability in category management, stakeholder engagement, and supplier relationships.
  • Expertise in external environments, suppliers, and commercial models.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing skills, and digital/data savvy.
  • Strong business partnering attributes and judgment skills.
