Job Description:

The KPMG financial services tax team is a fast-growing part of the KPMG tax practice. We are looking for excellent candidates who are seeking a dynamic and challenging working environment within a strong supportive leadership team.

As a result of growth in our business, we have a number of roles across our FS and Asset Management tax teams, which serve a diverse client base including banks, custodians, brokers, asset managers, alternative investors, wealth and hedge asset managers, and global institutional investors such as pension funds and sovereign wealth funds.

For the right candidates, there are significant opportunities to be part of an expanding business and to progress rapidly as the team grows. The work is interesting and diverse, involving cutting-edge developments and collaboration with prominent FS firms and emerging market entrants.

The team is diverse and collaborative, with members based across London, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh. We embrace hybrid and flexible working models. Our team includes professionals from various backgrounds—professional services, tax, legal, accounting, regulatory, and industry experience—ensuring comprehensive support and training for our staff.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across our FS and Asset Management tax teams. We welcome informal discussions to explore these opportunities further.

The Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge across corporation tax and related areas.
  • Support client relationship and project management, becoming a key contact within asset management, involving CT compliance, advisory work, tax audits, and product tax engagements such as UK investor reporting.
  • Understand clients’ businesses and collaborate across KPMG to identify opportunities for broader tax services.
  • Develop and advise on innovative client propositions.
  • Participate in business development and proposal activities.
  • Work with KPMG teams across the UK and globally to deliver high-quality tax support.
  • Contribute to the development of new client propositions, including working with technology teams to develop and market solutions, and establishing delivery models to ensure service quality.
  • Promote KPMG and the asset management tax team, helping grow the business through high-quality service delivery.
The Person:

The ideal candidates will possess some or all of the following skills:

  • Deep technical expertise in corporation tax, possibly supported by qualifications in tax, audit, finance, law, or regulation, or substantial practical experience.
  • Practical experience with corporation tax in a Financial Services context, from industry or professional services backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, participants, investors, and products.
  • Strong project management, delegation, coaching, and client-facing skills.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and ability to integrate this with evolving tax regulations.
  • Ability to leverage new tax developments to create client propositions.
