Our CTAC department is a rapidly growing part of our Tax practice with a diverse client base, including PE-backed, owner-managed, family businesses, UK listed companies, and multinationals. Working in our CTAC department offers opportunities to develop client relationships, provide advisory services, and manage compliance processes.

The Role

We are recruiting a Senior Manager for our CTAC team in CSQ, working as part of the wider London region team across five offices. The successful candidate will build strong client relationships, develop junior staff, deliver excellent client service, and identify business development opportunities. At KPMG, our values define us and guide our business practices. We believe our strength comes from our diverse people, perspectives, and backgrounds. We are committed to inclusive leadership and diversity initiatives—be part of our journey.

Overview

This role within our CTAC team based in CSQ involves supporting our rapid growth. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic environment, supported by strong leadership. You will work with a diverse portfolio, including UK listed, PE-backed, inbound, and family-owned groups, on advisory projects such as tax structuring, domestic and international tax advice. Experience with multinationals is advantageous, but strong technical skills, drive, and curiosity are essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide international and complex UK tax advisory services to help clients meet their commercial objectives, while managing compliance processes.
  2. Deliver technically sound advice on tax structuring, refinancing, legal structure optimization, reorganizations, tax authority inquiries, and compliance, supporting the wider corporate tax team.
  3. Coordinate with specialists in other departments and overseas offices for project input.
  4. Coach and develop junior team members.
  5. Manage team operations and performance, including resourcing.
  6. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business to identify opportunities for tax and other services.
  7. Lead proposals for new work, including tender documents, client presentations, and problem-solving solutions.
  8. Identify and pursue business opportunities, actively supporting senior leadership in business development.
  9. Uphold KPMG's values as a role model.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  1. Qualified ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA, or equivalent, with strong corporate tax and accounting expertise.
  2. Proven ability to develop, coach, and lead staff, managing stakeholder relationships.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  4. Strong analytical skills and a commercial approach to problem-solving and advising.
  5. Proactive in identifying and pursuing long-term business opportunities.
  6. Ability to multitask across various projects and relationships.
  7. High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  8. Committed to continuous technical development.
  9. Inquisitive with attention to detail.
