Senior Manager Category Procurement - Hydraulics, Desford

Building Construction Products division (BCP) is hiring a Senior Manager Category Procurement - Hydraulics. This role is responsible for managing the global BCP category strategy for Hydraulics across the BCP business.

Job Summary:

This candidate leads collaboration with Hydraulics Systems and Components Engineering and suppliers to deliver quality, cost, and performance requirements for hydraulic components. The role involves developing and optimizing a resilient, world-class supply base.

Responsibilities:
  • People Management: Lead a global team of supplier development engineers and purchasing professionals managing the supply base to meet BCP's QCLDM requirements.
  • Leadership: Develop, mentor, and train personnel; lead supplier performance management; maintain high ethical standards; build relationships with key suppliers; represent BCP on the Hydraulics Category Council.
  • Strategy: Use Strategic Sourcing to evaluate options and align sourcing strategies with BCP's needs. Understand current supply base capabilities and identify potential improvements.
  • Customer Engagement: Manage suppliers across multiple facilities, including service networks. Communicate progress and collaborate closely with business partners.
  • Supplier Development: Use QCLDM tools to ensure continuous improvement plans with key suppliers, building trust and professionalism. Apply cost modeling knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field or extensive related experience.
  • Experience leading diverse, global teams and understanding cultural differences.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven expertise in global procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles.
Preferred Candidates Will Have:
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of external factors affecting supply chains.
  • Master’s degree (MBA preferred).
  • Knowledge of Quality and Cost Modeling tools.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and professional certifications (e.g., C.P.M., CPIM, CIRM).
  • Affiliations with professional organizations (e.g., ISM, APICS).
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt experience.
