Qualifications

• Degree educated (or equivalent) required.
• Relevant Finance/Treasury qualification desirable.
• Experience in Treasury/Balance Sheet Management leadership roles.
• Strong regulatory and risk awareness and understanding of ALM.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of regulatory documents including ILAAP and Recovery & Resolution Planning (RRP).
• Optimise funding and liquidity planning and performance in line with business strategy.
• Monitor market, regulatory, and economic developments and translate insights into actions.
• Own and evolve risk management policies, controls, and risk appetite frameworks.
• Report liquidity positions and EWIs to senior governance forums.
• Provide input into regulatory disclosures.
• Partner with Product teams to embed BSM in new product design.
• Develop and maintain external relationships across industry bodies and peers.
• Lead contingency planning and ensure readiness for stress scenarios.
• Collaborate across Finance, Risk, and Commercial to align financial strategy.

Job description

We are running an exclusive search campaign for a series of exciting senior opportunities to join the Treasury Division of one of the UK’s leading larger Building Societies. The first three Senior Manager level roles will play a critical role in shaping and delivering balance sheet strategy. For this role we are looking for a subject matter expert who will drive safe and sustainable growth by optimising funding and liquidity outcomes. This is a high-impact leadership position, providing strategic insight to senior stakeholders while ensuring the business operates within an evolving regulatory and economic landscape. The Society offer hybrid working and will require a minimum of 8 days a month in Cardiff with a very flexible approach to how that is accomplished.

Role Description

Role Requirements

• Degree educated (or equivalent)
• Relevant Finance/Treasury professional qualification (desirable)
• Strong experience in a Treasury, Finance, or Balance Sheet Management leadership role
• Deep expertise in Funding & Liquidity management within a banking or building society environment
• Excellent understanding of balance sheet dynamics, ALM techniques, and financial markets
• Proven ability to operate in a regulated environment with strong knowledge of key frameworks
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capability, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to influence at Executive level and communicate complex issues clearly
• A proactive mindset with ownership, initiative, and a passion for continuous improvement
