Job description

As the Senior Manager – Anti-Piracy & Content Security, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding Virgin Media O2’s TV & Entertainment services. From managing high-profile content security partnerships with the Premier League and major studios to influencing national anti-piracy forums, this is your chance to work at the cutting edge of content protection and make a real impact on our business and customers.

You’ll lead both proactive and reactive content security measures – from negotiating security terms in major content deals to guiding product and network teams on digital rights management, and helping shape our response to evolving piracy threats. Collaborating across legal, commercial, technical, and industry bodies, you’ll champion compliance, innovation, and best practices, ensuring Virgin Media O2 stays ahead in content protection.

  • Strong understanding of piracy ecosystems, including methods of unauthorized access and distribution, forensic watermarking, and traffic monitoring techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of copyright, intellectual property law, secure content distribution technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading strategic projects related to anti-piracy initiatives or content protection compliance and managing complex stakeholder relationships across legal, commercial, and technical functions.
  • A track record of cross-functional collaboration and delivering results in fast-paced, high-stakes environments focused on content protection and revenue risk mitigation.
We’d also love you to bring
  • A degree or professional qualification in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of forensic analysis tools and investigation techniques related to anti-piracy.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or TV and Entertainment industry.
  • Familiarity with industry bodies such as FACT and the Streaming Video Technology Alliance (SVTA).
  • Certifications like CISSP or other relevant content security credentials.
