Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board in Wales is seeking a qualified accountant to support the Finance Business Partner in delivering effective financial management, reporting and control across the Health Board and its services.

The post holder will undertake an agreed development programme under Annex 21, with structured progression to a substantive Band 7 role, supported by supervision and a hybrid working model at Bronllys.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience in management accounting.
• Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
• Understanding of NHS financial management systems.
• Ability to develop financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial policies to ensure viability.
• Manage staff in the Management Accountancy team.
• Provide budgetary control information and forecasts.
• Advise managers on business cases and spending.
• Maintain budget allocation controls and staffing establishments.
• Prepare regular financial position and performance reports.
