Job description

A Senior Management Accountant role for a market leading retail group. 6 month FTC.

A market leading retail group in Blackburn.


Your new role
A Senior Management Accountant role, providing dedicated accounting support by producing monthly management accounts and accomplishing key financial close & day-to-day activities efficiently. You will be an essential asset in supporting the Financial Controller & Finance Manager in driving forward projects, achieving business objectives and leading the team to success. The role involves cross-department collaboration, interacting with senior stakeholders, financial reporting and implementing process improvements. This will include:

  1. Monthly / Quarterly / Annual reporting & consolidation.
  2. Project work involving creating, leading or supporting projects.
  3. Monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  4. Posting key journal entries.
  5. Balance sheet reconciliations.
  6. Identifying areas of improvement and implementing robust processes.
  7. Support with internal & external auditors.
  8. Assisting with year-end statutory accounts.
  9. Developing and maintaining robust processes and controls in line with Group requirements.
  10. Ensure consistent documentation of tasks and activities according to internal policies.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant, with experience of a Management or Financial Accounting role in a large and complex business. Have strong attention to detail, analytical and technical skills. A confident communicator, with the ability to build rapport and work with senior stakeholders. You`ll be pro-active with high productivity levels. ERP systems experience would be an advantage and strong Excel skills are essential. You will be adaptable and open to changing priorities.
