About this role

The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for providing financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making for Ozone. This role will play a key part in financial planning, cost control, and performance monitoring, ensuring the project's financial health and sustainability. The role will also involve preparing management accounts, bookkeeping, capital expenditure (capex) reporting, audit duties, compliance reporting, and handling general ad hoc financial duties.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring completeness and correctness in financial reporting.
  • Analyse financial data to provide insights into project performance and profitability.
Bookkeeping & Management Accounts Preparation:
  • Oversee bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are recorded correctly and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and oversee general ledger maintenance.
Capex Reporting:
  • Track and report on capex related to Ozone.
  • Ensure capital investments align with financial planning and budgeting.
  • Assess the financial viability of capex initiatives and provide recommendations to management.
  • Monitor capex performance and analyse variances against budgeted projections.
Audit Duties & Compliance Reporting:
  • Prepare documentation and reports required for internal and external audits.
  • Support the audit process by liaising with auditors and providing necessary financial data.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control policies and recommend improvements where needed.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare compliance reports to ensure regulatory obligations are met.
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews to assess and enhance risk management practices.
Cost Control & Financial Compliance:
  • Implement and oversee cost control measures to optimise project expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with external auditors to facilitate financial audits and statutory reporting.
General Ad Hoc Duties:
  • Assist with various finance-related projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Support the Head of Finance with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Provide support in system improvements and process enhancements.
  • Assist in financial decision-making by providing timely and relevant financial information.
  • Process improvement & system optimisation.
  • Identify areas for efficiency improvements in financial reporting and project accounting.
  • Implement best practices in financial management to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Support the integration of financial software and reporting tools to streamline processes.
Required experience/ skills:
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience, in either practice or management accounting in industry, preferably within the advertising industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Xero accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
