About the Role:

Due to continued expansion, the Lanes Group is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join our well-established finance team based in Leeds.

Location: Leeds

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of 8 to ensure positive team performance
• Producing monthly management accounts, including routine journal postings (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.)
• Posting daily cash transactions, bank reconciliations, and issuing weekly cash reports
• Monitoring rebate accounts to ensure timely and correct rebate payments
• Completing monthly bank reconciliations
• Reviewing financial performance against budgets and analyzing variances
• Collaborating with depot managers to gather KPI data and drive business improvements
• Nominal coding of invoices
• Preparing year-end financial statements and ensuring records are up to date
• Analyzing sales data and provisioning for potential liabilities or losses
• Maintaining records of fixed assets
• Working with external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous management experience
• Proficiency in data visualization, dashboards, and reporting; creativity in data presentation
• Advanced Excel skills
• Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work at pace
• Highly organized, analytical, results-focused, and able to multi-task
• Excellent communication skills
• Part-qualified or studying CIMA or equivalent
