Based at Culham, Oxfordshire (hybrid working)
Salary up to £46,849 plus a £2,000 South East Allowance per annum and a generous benefits package

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognized as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, we recruit skilled and committed professionals. We are currently seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join our growing Finance team.
Our Senior Management Accountant (SMA) will coordinate financial performance, providing strategic and operational financial analysis and modelling. Responsibilities include managing the full Financial Management service, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and management accounts, while building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
You will utilize various forecasting and review techniques to maintain financial control, project accurately, monitor financial plans, and investigate variances. In rotation with other SMAs, you will handle sales invoicing, apprenticeship levy reconciliations, and consolidate financial information for monthly and annual accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Our Finance team collaborates closely, supporting budgeting, forecasting, audit activities, and maintaining financial controls.
Candidates should be either Fully or Part-Qualified and actively studying with a recognized accountancy body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA), with experience in an accountancy environment, preferably with some public sector exposure. Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning systems and MS Office, especially advanced Excel skills for developing financial models, is essential. Strong numeracy, technical, and analytical skills are required. Excellent communication skills are vital for engaging with internal and external stakeholders, along with a proactive, results-oriented leadership style.
