About the Role
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the month-end close process, enhancing financial reporting, and ensuring robust financial control. You will lead and mentor a management accountant, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a Management Accountant, promoting professional growth.
- Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports for management and the board.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to inform business decision-making.
- Enhance the month-end close process and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Oversee the external audit process.
- Support other finance teams to ensure a seamless service to the wider business.
- Manage risks effectively, propose solutions, and communicate with key stakeholders.
- Perform ad-hoc financial tasks as required by management.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute and detail-oriented finance professional who meets the following criteria:
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACA/ACCA) with at least 5 years PQE.
- Proven track record as a Finance Manager or equivalent in a commercially focused role.
- Strong experience in delivering management reporting and commercial finance support.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and IT literate.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player with a collaborative approach.
Desirable Attributes:
- Retail industry background.
- Sound knowledge of company taxation.
- Experience working with large volumes of data.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software.
