Job summary

ACCA Careers invites applications for a Senior Management Accountant to oversee monthly management accounts and provide timely insights for decision-making. You will manage balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, VAT submissions, and contribute to controls, governance, and budgeting within a growth-focused financial services group.

The role includes supporting acquisitions, cash flow forecasting, year-end audits, and ad-hoc reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for a portfolio of group companies.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances where required.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations.
• Support the ongoing development and enhancement of financial controls and governance procedures.
• Assist with acquisitions by contributing to due diligence activities and post-acquisition integration.
• Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Play a key role in the year-end audit process, coordinating information and liaising with external auditors.
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle through analysis, reporting, and financial insight.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to support senior management decision-making.
• Contribute to business improvement initiatives, finance projects, and other duties as required.

A Successful Senior Management Accountant Should Have
