Job description

Here at Peacocks, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance department at our Head Office in Cardiff. If you would like to be part of a forward-thinking business and have a job with excellent career prospects, we would love to hear from you.

With a store portfolio of approximately 340 stores plus our expanding e-commerce business, we are growing our current headcount to support the company's growth over the next 3-5 years.

You will report to the Head of FP&A and work closely with them and the Finance Director in developing the company's strategic plan, as well as analyzing and reporting on performance across key areas such as e-commerce, distribution, stores, and central costs.

Responsibilities of the role include:
  1. Overview of monthly management accounts for retail, logistics, and central costs
  2. Production of weekly trading packs
  3. Preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy for cash flow impact
  4. Production and analysis of store P&L statements
  5. Production and analysis of e-commerce P&L statements
  6. Monthly review meetings with budget holders
  7. Quarterly store-by-store review meetings with regional managers
  8. Preparation of monthly P&L packs
  9. Interpretation of financial data and making recommendations to senior management
  10. Providing financial information to support strategic and operational decisions
  11. Challenging and supporting the commercial management team on financial matters
  12. Ad-hoc trading analysis related to promotions and offers
Candidate Profile:
  1. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs minimum)
  2. Flexible and diplomatic approach
  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. Ability to interact with senior financial and non-financial stakeholders across the business on various financial and non-financial matters
