Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Major Incident Manager in London to lead crisis response for critical payments and financial crime platforms. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage executive communications and drive post‑incident improvements.

This 6‑month PAYE contract includes governance, PIRs, and operational readiness, with a 4‑day week (10 hours/day) and on‑call shifts in a hybrid London setup.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in Major Incident or Crisis Management.
• Deep knowledge of payments infrastructure and financial crime systems.
• Strong understanding of ITSM, SRE principles and observability.
• Experience operating in highly regulated environments.
• Ability to translate technical issues for executives and align teams.

Responsibilities

• Incident Command: lead Sev1/Sev2 incidents and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Senior Escalation: act as escalation point for critical outages.
• Executive Comms: own high‑level communications for executives.
• Governance & Remediation: run PIRs and track preventative actions.
• Operational Readiness: run resilience tests and ensure go‑live readiness.
