Job summary

Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, utilities, and process equipment in a GMP biopharmaceutical facility.

The role involves guiding junior technicians, maintaining uptime, and ensuring GDP-compliant documentation. You will support BAS, environmental monitoring, vendor coordination, and on-call rotations while adhering to GMP, GDP, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school certification preferred; associate degree or mechanical/utilities certification a plus.
• 4–6 years of relevant hands-on maintenance experience.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a GMP environment.
• Demonstrated utilities and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and CMMS platforms.
• Effective communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and troubleshooting: advanced repair of mechanical, utilities, and process equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts on moderately complex systems and identify root causes.
• Support utilities and plant systems to ensure uptime and continuity.
• Systems & reliability: support BAS and environmental monitoring; respond to alarms.
• Vendor & coordination support: coordinate vendor activities and walkthroughs.
• Escort vendors into GMP areas and ensure compliance with site requirements.
• GMP operations support: assist with shutdowns, HEPA certification, cleanrooms, outages.
• Documentation & systems: use CMMS for work orders, history, GDP documentation; mentor others.
• Safety & compliance: comply with GMP, GDP, and site safety requirements; on-call rotation.
