Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Birmingham to lead a large maintenance function within a heavy engineering manufacturing environment. You will oversee planning, scheduling, and delivery of maintenance activities while driving improvements in reliability and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and a focus on HSE standards. You will manage unions and a sizeable team, with opportunities for career progression and a market-leading benefits

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance management experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and team development ability.
• Budget control and cost optimization experience.
• Solid knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance.
• Experience delivering maintenance improvements and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all maintenance and engineering activities, ensuring plans are effectively delivered.
• Drive continuous improvement to develop a proactive maintenance function and improve plant performance.
• Lead maintenance teams, manage training, attendance, holiday planning and shift resourcing.
• Monitor maintenance performance, maintain CMMS/SAP records, and track KPIs.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and safe working practices across stores and operations.
