In this shift leadership role, you will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to lead a highly skilled, dynamic maintenance team based in Solihull.

You will contribute towards the long-term success of JLR by leading your multi-faceted shift maintenance team in an uplifted body construction manufacturing facility with new manufacturing assets.

The manufacturing asset footprint includes numerous modern technologies encompassing automated multi-axis robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling and fixturing and lifting equipment to name but a few.


Delivering a premium product from your manufacturing facility, you will take extreme pride in being part of the maintenance operations team at Solihull, providing engineering maintenance support to maximise production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility.

You will lead your team in adhering to standards and processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are achieved. You will lead problem solving activities to ensure sustained improvements to business performance are yielded. WHAT TO EXPECT

As the Maintenance Leader, you'll:

● Provide day-to-day leadership of your shift to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment framework
● Lead your team to deliver the required Technical Availability (TA)
● Lead your team during reactive breakdown situations and enable them to deliver maximum uptime using safe working practises
● Champion 5S and workplace organisation activities, validating effectiveness to standards
● Support the training and development of maintenance personnel including delivery of behavioural, safety, technical and process training programs
● Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

● Previous maintenance leadership experience gained from within a similar role in a maintenance operational environment in manufacturing
● Ability to lead a large team of people in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
● Demonstrable experience in lean manufacturing methodologies including TPM, 5S, Kaizen and PPS (Practical Problem Solving) techniques
● Operational acumen in order to prioritise your resources to where they are needed most
● Ability to transmit your understanding of maintenance metrics to drive your team towards success
● Able to work a rotational shift pattern
