Working in Manufacturing at JLR, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings innovation to life. In this shift leadership role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead a highly skilled, dynamic maintenance team based in Solihull.

You will contribute towards the long-term success of JLR by leading your multi-faceted shift maintenance team in an uplifted body construction manufacturing facility with new manufacturing assets.

The manufacturing asset footprint includes numerous modern technologies encompassing automated multi-axis robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling and fixturing, and lifting equipment to name but a few.


Delivering a premium product from your manufacturing facility, you will take pride in being part of the maintenance operations team at Solihull, providing engineering maintenance support to maximize production efficiencies by maintaining all manufacturing assets and ancillary equipment within the manufacturing facility.

You will lead your team in adhering to standards and processes, ensuring the highest quality standards are achieved. You will lead problem-solving activities to ensure sustained improvements to business performance. Through living and breathing our purpose, vision, strategy, and transformation, you will exemplify World Class maintenance skills, behaviors, and competencies in all you do, maximizing manufacturing efficiencies.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As the Maintenance Leader, you'll:

● Provide day-to-day leadership of your shift to ensure safe and efficient production performance within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, and Environment framework
● Lead your team to deliver the required Technical Availability (TA)
● Lead your team during reactive breakdown situations and enable them to deliver maximum uptime using safe working practices
● Champion 5S and workplace organization activities, validating effectiveness to standards
● Support the training and development of maintenance personnel, including behavioral, safety, technical, and process training programs
● Undertake any other work as directed by your line manager in connection with your job as may be requested

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to succeed here, including:

● Previous maintenance leadership experience gained from a similar role in a maintenance operational environment within manufacturing
● Ability to lead a large team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
● Demonstrable experience in lean manufacturing methodologies including TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and PPS (Practical Problem Solving) techniques
● Operational acumen to prioritize resources effectively
● Ability to understand and utilize maintenance metrics to drive success
● Ability to work a rotational shift pattern
