Job summary
Astute is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer for a biogas plant in the renewables sector on-site in the UK. You will lead maintenance, optimise plant performance, and deputise for the Plant Manager when needed. Salary up to £45,000 plus benefits and overtime.
The role requires a strong engineering background with fault-finding experience, process-plant exposure, and leadership abilities to mentor junior staff. Flexibility for shifts and on-call work is expected.
Qualifications
- Strong practical engineering background with fault-finding experience.
- Experience in a maintenance role within a process plant.
- Leadership experience or mentoring capability.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours and be flexible.
Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance and optimisation of the biogas plant.
- Provide leadership to junior Technicians and Engineers.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are scheduled, documented and reported.
- Fault-find and maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors.
- Coordinate external subcontractors and inspect their work.
- Manage stores inventory and budget oversight.
- Be part of the on-call rota and use CMMS/SCADA for diagnostics.
