This role will work within our department, which is an innovative team that will build and deploy leading AI-driven solutions to improve workflows common across both Parexel and the life sciences industry. The team partners and supports the business in building best-in-class AI-driven solutions when nothing suitable exists.

This role is based in the office, which is open plan, and you will be working in an innovative and collaborative environment with your international peers and colleagues.

As the Senior ML Engineer, you will be responsible for developing AI Labs’ machine learning platform and creating production-ready AI-based solutions and models for high-impact areas in Parexel’s business. You will write, test, and release code and internal libraries according to the technology and product roadmaps. You will work collaboratively with application engineering, product, and business stakeholders to develop principled and innovative ML solutions and models from research to POC to production. You will also serve as an AI expert within Parexel, driving AI education and providing guidance across the company.

Key Accountabilities:

• ML and Natural Language Processing (NLP) Technology: Leverage proprietary technology stack to build custom machine learning models, design and implement new ML/NLP techniques, develop backend software, build internal frameworks, review recent research, and improve code quality.
• Applied ML POCs and Experimentation: Understand business needs, develop custom models, lead experiments, and carry out prototyping and experimentation.
• AI-based Production Solutions: Collaborate with product teams, build high-quality AI software, and support the software lifecycle from an AI perspective.
• AI Expertise, Education, and Advocacy: Establish standards, create educational content, and act as an AI advisor within Parexel.

Education:

Master’s or PhD in engineering, computer science with a focus on Machine Learning (and NLP), or equivalent experience.

Skills:

Proficiency in Machine Learning, NLP, Deep Learning, building and deploying NLP systems, strong CS fundamentals, proficiency in Python and scientific packages, experience with databases, excellent communication skills, and a flexible attitude towards work and learning.

Knowledge and Experience:

Previous NLP or ML engineering experience in a commercial environment, expertise with tools like Git, Github, AWS/Azure, Docker, and experience in delivering production-quality AI solutions. Up-to-date with state-of-the-art ML and NLP techniques, with a preference for research publication experience.
