Through our Arene mobility software platform, safety-first automated driving technology, and Toyota Woven City - our test course for advanced mobility - we're bringing greater freedom, safety, and happiness to people and society.

Our unique global culture weaves modern Silicon Valley innovation and time-tested Japanese quality craftsmanship. We leverage these strengths to enhance driver capabilities, foster happiness, and elevate well-being.

Team

At Woven by Toyota, we develop advanced Machine Learning solutions for autonomous driving. Our team works on designing neural networks, innovative end-to-end architectures, and advancing ML techniques in perception, prediction, and motion planning. We are passionate about pushing autonomous system boundaries through deep learning and optimization, especially in complex 3D geometric computer vision scenarios. We seek passionate innovators eager to redefine mobility through AI and robotics, shaping the future of self-driving technology.

Woven by Toyota is collaborating with Toyota Research Institute (TRI) on a project to develop a fully end-to-end learned automated driving / ADAS stack, synergistic with TRI's robotics efforts in Diffusion Policy and Large Behavior Models (LBM).

Responsibilities
  1. Own the design and development of ML models for end-to-end autonomous driving, including data strategy, design, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment.
  2. Resolve ambiguities and uncertainties in complex projects involving multiple teams and legacy codebases.
  3. Lead by example to promote high-quality coding, rigorous ML experimentation, and knowledge sharing among team members.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders across different teams and time zones to define interfaces and requirements for the autonomous driving stack.
Experience
  • MS or higher degree in a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch (preferred), Jax, or TensorFlow.
  • Knowledge of debugging and profiling neural networks on NVIDIA CUDA.
  • Experience with architectures for object detection and 3D perception.
  • Experience in ML workflows: data sampling, pre-processing, training, ablation studies, evaluation, deployment, and inference optimization.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Hands-on experience building perception stacks for autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with recent ML breakthroughs, such as foundation models, pre-training, fine-tuning, and multimodal Transformers.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed training.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with sensor fusion for perception stacks, e.g., BEV representations.
  • Experience with NVIDIA deployment tools like ONNX, TensorRT, profiling.
  • Knowledge of embedded ML platforms and real-time OSes.
What We Offer
