Skipton Building Society is seeking an IT Principal Engineer to lead the Colleague Technology Platform, driving the evolution of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, identity, and end-user computing. You will guide architecture decisions, mentor a team of around 25 engineers, and partner with Security, Architecture and Data teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

The role requires strategic yet hands-on leadership, with a focus on modern workplace technology and robust, compliant services aligned

Qualifications

• Expert level knowledge across the full Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Hands-on security, identity governance and device management experience.
• Proven ability to lead large technical teams and define architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the M365 stack and end-user computing.
• Set best-practice standards for identity, security, device management.
• Lead software lifecycle governance for packaging, deployment and retirement.
• Mentor engineers and drive continual improvement.
