Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor
Our client, a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor, is looking to add a Degree-Qualified Senior M&E QS to their team on the outskirts of London.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management & Cost Control
Develop a validated, delivery-aligned project budget.
Produce monthly cost forecasts for both client and internal reporting.
Maintain positive cash flow while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Review monthly cost and sales reports with the Project QS.
Identify and mitigate commercial and compliance risks, including potential cost overruns.
Maintain and update monthly revenue and cash flow forecasts.
Create and manage a costed risk and opportunity schedule.
Ensure all quotations are submitted with impact programmes.
Contract Administration & Change Management
Deliver the commercial aspects of projects through to final account closure.
Administer NEC4 Option C contracts with full compliance to timeline requirements.
Prepare, submit, and negotiate compensation event quotations.
Manage contract variations and ensure comprehensive change documentation.
Deliver all contractual outputs within agreed deadlines.
Subcontract & Stakeholder Management
Oversee subcontractor performance and applications for payment.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with client-side quantity surveyors.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Lead earned value analysis (EVA) throughout design and construction phases.
Follow internal commercial processes and promote compliance among team members.
Team Leadership & Development
Mentor and support junior QS staff, delegating work and guiding development.
Deputised Duties
Act as Deputy where competent, and ensure cover is arranged for extended periods of absence.

Technical Competencies
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with NEC3/NEC4 and Network Rail (NR3) contracts.
Able to independently measure and price MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire & Comms) packages.
Adheres to company quality, HR, and financial protocols.
Leads by example in Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability compliance. Drives continuous improvement and accountability.
Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with working knowledge of digital engineering platforms such as BIM and CAD. EPDS familiarity a bonus.
Experience
Minimum 3 years in a Senior QS role with evidence of career progression.
Tier 1-2 M&E subcontractor experience essential.
