Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

A market‑leading MEP contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a prestigious £30 million new‑build industrial‑commercial project on the outskirts of Glasgow. This high‑profile development is being delivered for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and offers the opportunity to work on a technically complex scheme with one of the UK’s most respected building services contractors.

Location: Glasgow. Salary: £65,000 – £75,000, Car Allowance: £5,500, Pension, Private Healthcare, Bonus.

The Role

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial delivery of significant MEP packages, ensuring robust cost control, contract administration, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial management of major MEP work packages
• Managing subcontract procurement, negotiations, and account administration
• Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and monthly CVRs
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks while maximising opportunities
• Managing client and subcontractor relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members
• Ensuring contractual compliance and protecting the company’s commercial position
• Working closely with project and operational teams to drive successful project outcomes

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a sub or main contractor
• Strong track record delivering large‑scale construction projects
• Excellent knowledge of contract administration and commercial management
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex project challenges
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred
• Must be eligible to obtain MOD Security Clearance
