Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to join a leading engineering contractor delivering specialist electrical and mechanical projects across London and the South East. You will oversee projects from planning to completion, ensuring safety, programme, budget and quality.

The role includes regular client, subcontractor and site team coordination, with travel to London required.

Qualifications

• Relevant M&E qualification with a strong electrical bias.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an M&E Project Manager.
• Experience within electrical infrastructure, standby power systems or generator installations is essential.
• Proven experience managing site teams, subcontractors and engineers on M&E projects.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial planning to final handover.
• Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, costs and variations.
• Good technical knowledge of electrical installations, construction methods, engineering practices and relevant industry regulations.
• Experience coordinating installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning software.
• Experience working within critical infrastructure, data centres, power generation or industrial environments would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within construction and engineering environments.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of M&E projects from inception through to completion.
• Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, engineers and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are carried out safely and in accordance with project specifications.
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate electrical and mechanical installation works, including associated testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant health and safety legislation, industry regulations and company procedures.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement appropriate solutions to minimise delays.
• Manage project costs, variations, procurement and commercial performance.
• Maintain effective communication between clients, contractors, consultants and internal project teams.
• Attend site meetings, progress reviews and client meetings as required.
• Ensure all project documentation, reports and records are maintained accurately.
• Oversee quality control and ensure installations meet the required technical standards.
• Manage projects through to successful commissioning, handover and completion.
• Provide leadership and support to site teams, ensuring high standards of performance and productivity.
