Job summary

Selby Jennings is hiring a Senior Java Developer to own the EMS and Smart Order Router end to end in London. This greenfield build will be low-latency and high-throughput, delivering an execution algo suite from the ground up.

You will design and implement components, collaborate with traders and quants, and focus on VWAP, TWAP, POV, and liquidity-seeking strategies in FX and crypto markets. The role offers hybrid London working, direct exposure to the trading desk, and a strong bonus alongside

Qualifications

Strong Java with low-latency and concurrency experience.
Background in algorithmic or electronic trading (equities, FX or crypto).
Experience with execution algos, order routing or SOR.
Solid grasp of OMS/EMS architecture, FIX and market gateways.
Comfortable with Linux, networking, memory management and performance profiling.

Responsibilities

Design and build a low-latency EMS and Smart Order Router in Java.
Develop execution algorithms such as VWAP, TWAP, POV, liquidity seeking and crossing.
Build intelligent routing logic based on execution quality, liquidity, latency and cost.
Work with real-time market data, tick data and multicast feeds.
Tune for performance, fill ratio and latency under live trading conditions.
Partner with traders and quants to refine routing logic and build new capabilities.
