Job summary

Industrial Light & Magic is seeking a Senior Look Development Technical Director to produce high-quality lookdev and shading for CG assets, needing only initial direction from the Lead or Supervisor.

The role requires collaboration with Lighting and CG Supervisors to determine approaches, and to design, implement and maintain complex shading networks for hero assets in a production environment. The position is hybrid with on-site work required.

Qualifications

• Hero assets & props experience in Look Development.
• Experience with lighting and rendering in a VFX environment.
• Proficiency with physically based rendering and shader models.
• Ability to build and maintain complex shading networks.
• Excellent collaboration with texture and groom artists.
• Strong problem-solving and production deadline delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and create the look of computer generated objects and scenes.
• Work with Lighting Supervisors and CG Supervisors to determine approaches for CG challenges.
• Create efficient shader setups to optimise render farm usage.
• Maintain standard material libraries for consistency and pipeline efficiency.
• Design, implement and maintain complex shading networks for hero assets.
