Job summary

Nter Talent is recruiting a Head of Logistics for a Doncaster-based pallet solutions and circular-economy business. You will own the transport and maintenance function, shaping its future while leading two Transport Managers and a Maintenance Manager.

Based in Doncaster with some travel to other sites, you will drive strategy, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver cost-efficient operations with a strong commercial focus.

Qualifications

• CPC Transport Manager qualification required or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, Operator Licence obligations, driver hours and tachograph rules.
• Experience leading transport, logistics or haulage in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Proven track record managing fleets and multi-disciplinary transport teams.
• Experience with budgets, KPIs, service levels and cost control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Set medium- and long-term logistics strategy aligning fleet and service with business objectives.
• Lead and develop the transport and maintenance teams.
• Own day-to-day logistics performance including planning, route management and fleet utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with Operator Licence, driver hours and safety standards.
• Drive commercial performance by managing costs and improving efficiency.
• Use data and KPIs to improve planning and decision-making.
• Lead continuous improvement to strengthen capacity and resilience.
• Collaborate with Directors and wider teams as a senior operational partner.
