Job summary

A leading NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Burns Surgery Research to lead research projects at the Manchester Adult Burns Centre and the Manchester Paediatric Burns Centre. Qualifications

Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Burns Surgery Research

The closing date is 04 June 2025

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow at the Manchester Adult Burns Centre (Wythenshawe Hospital) and the Manchester Paediatric Burns Centre (Royal Manchester Children's Hospital). This is a 12-month post where the successful candidate will lead on local and national research projects related to burn injuries.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will develop skills in the management of severe burns (ITU), surgical management of burn wounds and deformities, and scar management.

They will receive mentorship from senior consultants and participate in courses organized by the occupational learning and development team, preparing them for a future in Burns Surgery.

Clinical Experience

Research
  • Research GMP qualification
  • Understanding of clinical research principles

Teaching
  • Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
  • Supervision experience of surgical trainees or equivalent
  • Ability to teach clinical and operative skills
  • Trainer/coordinator of recognized burns courses (e.g., EMSB/ABLS)
