Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking experienced social workers to join its safeguarding and children’s teams. You will undertake front-line post-qualifying child protection work, conduct robust assessments, and prepare concise records and reports while collaborating with families and multi‑agency partners.

The role offers hybrid working, generous annual leave, and a market supplement of £5,000 per year from 1 April 2026, with annual uplift. Supports progression within the service.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work is essential.
• Front line post qualifying experience in child protection.
• Robust safeguarding and court experience.
• Ability to write concise records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support children and families through robust assessment and planning.
• Provide intervention with restorative practice and multi‑agency partners.
• Maintain clear, concise case records and reports.
• Work in a diverse, high‑needs caseload with senior management support.
